Creative Operations Manager

We’re looking for an Associate Designer, Footwear and Accessories to join our team in New York, NY, reporting directly to the Footwear and Accessories Design Director. The Associate Designer will be responsible for supporting the Footwear, Bags, and Leather Goods categories in executing the creative and technical vision through design & development touchpoints. This position works autonomously to complete daily assignments that adhere to design standards and meet all internal and external deadlines. The ideal candidate is an experienced creative with a strong understanding of fashion, design, and art. They must have excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to multitask and stay on top of multiple projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the Design Director in all areas of footwear, bags, and leather goods design.
• Execute linesheet creation and maintenance.
• Prepare and maintain technical packages.
• Create and manage color & material specs for inline and collaboration categories.
• Research artwork mood direction through magazines, online services, blogs, etc.
• Develop understanding of ALD brand design ethos.
• Assist with category calendar management, working closely with Design Director to ensure deadlines are met consistently.
• Maintain strong relationships with our vendors to secure open communication and adherence to deadlines both locally and overseas.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in Design, Footwear and/or Bags preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Accessories Design, or related field.
• Knowledge of footwear and bag design; experience with color & material design a plus.
• Ability to create original artwork through graphic design and CAD.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft Office.
• Experience in PLMK to PDM System a plus.
• Experience in 3D and rendering software a plus.
• Working knowledge of footwear & leather goods construction.
• Ability to thrive in a high-volume, collaborative environment, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Must be organized and illustrate a keen attention to detail.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000
